Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp. fine herbes seasoning
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 pouches of Levitts smoked meat
  • 6 cheese sticks (such as Ficello)

Preparation

  • Step 1
    Mix breadcrumbs and seasoning in a bowl.
  • Step 2
    Place the flour in a second bowl, pepper generously and add a pinch of salt.
  • Step 3
    In a third bowl, lightly beat the egg with a fork.
  • Step 4
    Cut the cheese sticks in two and wrap each half in a slice of smoked meat, being sure to completely cover the cheese.
  • Step 5
    Dip the sticks in the flour, then the egg, and then the breadcrumbs.
  • Step 6
    Place the sticks in a pre-heated deep fryer and cook for 4-5 minutes. Be careful not to over-fill the fryer, and only cook a few sticks at a time.
  • Step 7
    Remove the sticks from the fryer and place on paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  • Step 8
    Serve immediately with marinara sauce.
